Broke

I guess it has taken me a few days to realize that I am broke. After the visit to SFO my demand for goods has gone from highly inelastic to highly elastic. Thus $20 to go see "The Kooks" who will be playing tonight seem to expensive. I don't regret all the money I spent in te SFO anf Sausalito Pizzerias though. I guess many of you my fellow Auggies might be in the same situation... unless you made a right choice and biked for freedom, peace, or whatever people bike for during the spring break... I guess that is not so money demanding... or should I say is a more elastic choice.

Another big screw up for Augsburg Senate

This year's way of recommissioning and rechartering for Augsburg student organizations was somewhat annoying. This is because the requirements that organizations have to meet have changed drastically (at least in my opinion... and many others think so also). I feel that since HD's became parallel advisers for the student organizations, the way things are run is more like the Reslife operations. If you don't know what I mean, ask anyone who has worked, now works, or will work for reslife (I guess you could ask me, but that would cost me my job ha haha). Although, I don't know if they are part of the reason the process has become more demanding. The reason I am writing this entry tonight is because my fellow classmates and chairs of the Augsburg Business Organization (ABO) got turned down as a commissioned organization. I think the claim against them was that they did not plan and execute programs open to everyone on campus (or off campus if commuting). I personally believe (ha haha) that it is absolutely impossible to address the majority of your programs to all campus, especially since the principle of the orgs is to pursue a specific task. In this case, ABO deals with "business" related issues. Events that are open for any business major or minor... and in many cases anyone interested in whatever topic. Ok I agree, they went to Chicago and that was just open for members of the org, but there has to be some sort of preference for militant members right? I have to express my discontent with the performance of our student senate. I think they are making a terrible mistake by shutting down the ABO as a commissioned org. That to me is just another example of how arbitrary the "political" climate is in the school... I think we should bike around campus for 24 hours non-stop to protest against these actions... other suggestions?

I screwed up

I am really sorry, I just discovered that I lied to all of you. The Killers did not played this weekend. They will be here in May... oops

Defeated

I guess is time to admit it and face it, United lost and we got beaten pretty bad. Arogance is foolish and the curse of undefeated season fell on us. The soccer intramurals are over and qith that my thursday nights turn boring... I hope we can get to play some pick up games once the dome is down.

Ahhh Jokes!!!

Today I woke up in SFO and I did it with some poetic thoughts. I later realized that it could be the quote that will make me immortal through the years. Well if no one came up with it before. I think it is pretty original.

Life is a joke
you can laugh at it
you can be indifferent at it
or you could simply not understand it, but still laugh.

Stories of an Auggie in SFO

Well I gotta say that it kinda sucks to go to a place that is not that much warmer than MSP. Although weather here in SFO is pretty decent, the blowing wind makes it aweful. I guess the answer to why this has to happen to me during the Break "is blowing in the wind." I hope many of you friends got to go somewhere trulely warm... me I am going to Santa Cruz tomorrow... I hope is not that far ha haha

Update

This is the song for the (A)loners that had to stay home or on campus for the spring break. I really like this song for many reasons, I hope you do too. This is Cat Power, from the album jukebox and the song is "The Greatest" (ha haha).

Back Agaaaaaaain!

I apologize for being stuck in the rough for over two weeks. I promise I'll change that soon.
Tonight is a very important night for me and my teammates of the United (or Auggie United). We play the las two days of the intramural soccer league and there's a lot of pressure on us since we are undefeated and even more because this will be the second time we paly the Killer Cleats (which are supposed to be really good and notice i say SUPPOSED). Anyway, we'll see how it goes. You should come and joins as we march to the victory.

Lame

Is facebook lame?
Many people says YES!!!
I say HELL NO!!!
Actually, in my opinion who are they to judge how lame facebook is. Who are these people? (No one)
If you don't like facebook don't use it, but don't condemn it of lame.
If you use the website in a fashionable manner it is a great tool.
I agree that it has become way to commercial, to creepy, to fanatic, but that's how the system that we live in works out.

Chapel time :)

Chapel time brings the school community together in a daily basis and it is pretty nice to attend and sing etc etc. The ugly side of chapel time is that some of the most important offices for students close up for that time. I am ok with them closing up to go to chapel and hang out there. However I find extremely stupid when people close up for chapel so no one can get in the office but they are still sitting in there.

I ask why?
